We often talk about the least expensive vehicles from mainstream manufacturers and usually look to luxury brands when it comes to big-budget cars. That’s why I decided to talk about one of the auto industry’s best-kept secrets: there are also pricier models from mainstream brands that can be just as enjoyable—without crossing into over-the-top territory.
Today, we’re looking at Kia, a brand that offers a wide range of vehicles accessible to most budgets. In fact, the majority of the South Korean manufacturer’s models fall between $30,000 and $55,000. There are a few exceptions on both ends, but what interests us today is what you could buy at Kia if you had an unlimited budget.
Unsurprisingly, the most expensive vehicle in Kia’s lineup is also one of its newest additions. It’s the Kia EV9, a fully electric SUV whose looks, driving feel, and overall experience are very much in line with what we see from more prestigious brands. The best part is that Kia’s SUV has a starting price of just $63,162, which is excellent considering everything it offers. To give you an idea, the Kia EV9 comes standard with heated and ventilated front seats, a tri-zone climate control system, a wireless charger for compatible devices, and much more.
Of course, today we’re not here to save money, so let’s start adding options. First, we move up to the GT trim, which alone adds $25,300 to the bill. For that amount, you get 502 horsepower, 21-inch wheels, a high-performance braking system, and even a limited-slip rear differential. In short, the 2026 Kia EV9 GT can outperform many sports cars. This version offers several color options, with a maximum price of $250—still very reasonable. Finally, you can add a few factory accessories, bringing the total to $90,800.70. We can agree that at this point, it’s no longer a budget-friendly vehicle, but its value for money remains incredible and far more appealing than anything comparable in the high-end luxury vehicle segment.
