Kia Canada Records Best-Ever Electric Vehicle Sales in May 2024

Kia Canada achieved a record-breaking month for electric vehicle (EV) sales in May, selling 1,899 units--a 255% increase compared to May 2023. The EV6, Kia's flagship model, led the sales surge with 887 units, followed by the EV9 with 515 units, and the Niro EV with 497 units sold. The most significant sales growth was seen in Quebec (+352%), British Columbia (+117%), Ontario (+113%), Alberta (+130%), and New Brunswick (+283%). Overall, EVs made up 23% of Kia Canada's total sales for the month.

Kia Canada set a new record last year with a 202% increase in EV sales over 2022, delivering a total of 7,883 electric vehicles. This year's momentum continues, with 6,138 EVs sold year-to-date, accounting for 78% of last year's total EV sales, indicating a promising trend for the rest of the year.
